Youth Opposed to Using Youth Opposed to Using, Y.O.U., is an anti-drug program that provides a positive reward system for high school students who demonstrate drug-free lives. The purpose of the program is to provide many positive aspects for students who choose to be drug-free. Before students can participate, they must agree to a drug screen. Several vendors and retailers in the community support this program by providing incentives and discounts at their businesses. Students are given ID cards to show their participation in the program. Once a month, students are required to check in at the Mid-Coast Family Services office to validate their cards. At this time, they draw from a basket to either get a chance to win a small prize, put their name in for a big prize at the end of the year, or get a drug test. This program runs during the school year, from September through the end of May. Y.O.U. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which relies solely on donations from the community. If you wish to make a donation, or have any questions, please contact us at (361)575-7842.
