The Youth Prevention Programs (YPU/YPS) provide drug and alcohol prevention to school districts in an 8-county area which include Calhoun, DeWitt, Gonzales, Jackson, Lavaca, Refugio, and Victoria counties.
The goal of the Youth Prevention Universal Program (YPU) is to preclude the onset of the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs by youth and to foster the development of social and physical environments that facilitate healthy drug-free lifestyles. Through our prevention program, we facilitate small groups and provide universal classroom instruction. Participants learn skills necessary to refuse drug and alcohol use with lessons on goal setting, decision-making, assertiveness, and drug, alcohol and tobacco education.

- Kids Connection - 10-session support group for K-5th grade
- Protecting You Protecting Me - 8-10 session universal classroom instruction for elementary students grade 1-5
- Elementary Life Skills Training - 8-session universal classroom instruction for grades 3-5.
- Middle School Life Skills Training - 14-session universal classroom instruction for 6th grade; 10 sessions for 7th grade; 9 sessions for 8th grade
